Unplanned and spontaneous with three days to settle on a design before the construction began. Based on a traditional "hutong" construction. The design was flexible to allow alterations made during construction on site. 

Accelerated construction pace led to interesting problems with structural details. The design was translated through drawings rather than words, sketches were used as plans. The initial light roof structure was changed to a traditional “Hutong“ roof at the last possible moment. This created load bearing issues and corresponding structural alterations that had to be made without disrupting the design.
